Bullies BBQ – Hilton Head, SC
Located at 3 Regency Parkway, Hilton Head Island, Bullies BBQ has been serving up slow-smoked Southern classics since 2012. Originally founded by pitmaster Bob Sutton in a converted gas station, the restaurant quickly became a Lowcountry favorite thanks to its signature ribs, pulled pork, and brisket—all smoked low and slow over hickory and mesquite.
After briefly shifting to employee ownership, Bullies reopened on May 1, 2025, with Sutton back at the helm in partnership with local businessman Jeff Haines and operations manager Brisa Adame. Today, it remains a must-visit for both locals and vacationers, serving South Carolina–style barbecue with a no-frills, counter-service vibe.
Bullies is famous not only for its tender, smoky meats but also for its name—an homage to Sutton’s French Bulldogs, whose photos line the walls. From full racks of ribs to pulled pork sandwiches, jalapeño cheddar cornbread, and Southern sides like collards and mac & cheese, Bullies captures the heart of Hilton Head’s barbecue culture.
Whether you’re passing through after a beach day or seeking the island’s best barbecue, Bullies BBQ continues to deliver the kind of flavors that keep people coming back year after year.
